What do you teach, and where is the language spoken?

I teach Yorùbá, a vibrant language deeply rooted in the culture of West Africa, particularly in the Southwestern States of Nigeria.

What is your educational background?

I am a Microsoft Certified Educator and a Native Language (Yorùbá) Teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Technology.

I appreciate curious and open-minded students who actively engage in learning. A sense of humor and patience with themselves would create a positive environment.

What can students expect from your lessons?

Students can expect a structured, interactive, and supportive learning experience. I customize lessons to meet their goals and include practical activities to help them confidently speak Yorùbá.

Do you have any memorable teaching experiences?

A memorable experience for me was helping a student prepare for a government job in a Yorùbá-speaking environment. It was rewarding to see her master professional greetings, engage in formal conversations, adapt her accent, and enjoy speaking with colleagues in Yorùbá.

Do you have a favorite Yorùbá phrase?

One of my favorite Yorùbá phrases is “Inú mí dùn láti rí ẹ,” which translates to "I’m happy to see you." This lovely expression reminds me of the importance of nurturing relationships and the joy of being together.
