Spanish Lessons in Toronto

Get Started and Learn Spanish

Toronto is a vibrant, global city, with a rich diversity that makes it one of the most multicultural and multilingual places in the world. Out of the 200 languages spoken in the city, Spanish is one of the most prominent, with a Hispanic community making up around 2.7% of Toronto's population. Nearly 73,000 people listed Spanish as their mother tongue on the 2016 census, which is more than double the number of native French speakers. Learning Spanish is not only helpful to make the most out of your trips to Spain and Latin America but taking Spanish lessons in Toronto will also help you connect with Spanish-speaking businesses and markets in the city. Get in touch with us at Language Trainers today and we will design a course that suits your abilities and preferences!

Why Study Spanish in Toronto

Learn Spanish for Work: Toronto is the largest city in Canada in terms of population, and the heart of the Canadian economy. With free trade agreements established with Spain in 2017 and increasingly important ties forged with Latin American countries, like Mexico and Peru, Toronto is very firmly on the global map. So, taking Spanish courses in Toronto will boost your employability. If you are looking for a new job, it is a great idea to get in touch with the Toronto Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Established in 2007, this is a non-profit organization focused on promoting commerce and business relationships between Canada and Spain. To help build strong commercial ties, the Chamber organizes conferences and networking events. Take advantage of this opportunity to get in contact with Spanish entrepreneurs and impress them with the language skills you acquire with us at Language Trainers!

Learn Spanish for Social: And if you are looking to make new friends with an interest in the Spanish language, it is a great idea to join the Toronto Spanish Club Meetup group. It has more than 2,500 members, and many of them get together every Saturday to practise their Spanish while having some fun. These meetings usually take place at Spanish tapas bars or Latino clubs, such as El Rancho on College Street. There, you can have some delicious traditional dishes, such as tacos, quesadillas or enchiladas. Imagine ordering those dishes in Spanish and impressing your new friends! After dinner, you can stay at the club and dance to the rhythm of salsa and bachata music or sing along to the songs if you prefer. The club even has dance lessons every Thursday!

Learn Spanish for Culture: Toronto is also a great place to experience the vibrant Hispanic culture: Spanish language films, performing arts, music and literature all have a great presence in the city. If you are a cinema lover, for example, you will be glad to know Spanish filmmakers like Javier Cardenete usually present their films in the many festivals organized in the city. Why not attend those events and impress the artists with your newly-acquired Spanish pronunciation? And if you are more into parties, you can attend the Hispanic Fiesta, a celebration of Spanish and Latin-American arts, food, music and entertainment in Mel Lastman Square. It has been celebrated since 1982! Spanish classes in Toronto will help you make the most out of these festivals and give you the confidence to take part in the many Hispanic-heritage celebrations that Toronto hosts.
